Our crew recently made our annual invasion of Calloway Gardens Festival in Lights. It was our third time going and the best time yet. Our invasion started at the Butterfly Center. Here they lots of Different types of butterflies fluttering about in an exquisite enclosed environment with many beautiful flowering plants that adds to the beauty of multilevel enclosure. It is a very Fascinating and gorgeous place and of our favorites. During the Christmas Season there is usually a large Christmas tree in the room just before you enter the Butterfly area, where there is ample opportunities for photographs. after our adventure with the Butterflies we made way for the Discovery Center. Here are a few more places for photo opportunities as the have a Couple of different trees. The Christmas tree made out of poinsettias has to be one of our favorite ones here. here they have a small museum of flora and fauna of the area. although we did not get to see it, this also the place where the birds of prey show is usually held. then it was time to invade the Christmas village. Here they have a large food court area, which is the Boatswain's favorite, because he likes to eat. a lot! at the starboard end of the feasting area is the other shops of the village. there are several different ones, but one of the best is the wood worker, as you can watch him perform his unique craft in front of your very own eyes, there are lots of shiny things glittering about which will even get the grinch to smile. at the larboard, or port end is the entrance to festival in lights. here there is a trolley waiting to take you on an amazing journey of Christmas lights. now imagine a bunch of pirates on your trolley singing and shouting at the other trolleys as they pass by, and there you have us! indeed if that is something that sounds fun to you then keep a weather eye out on out events page for the next invasion. There are many scenes of lights. there is the solder/nutcracker scene,
the jack frost scene, the north pole scene and the 12 days of Christmas scene, just to name a few. It is well worth the trip to see. you can go alone, but that's no fun. Come and join The Cursed Few and have a fantastic time!
